There’s been a deafening silence from “Grey’s Anatomy” producers since Katherine Heigl started dropping hints that she’s like to return to the series that made her famous. She left after six seasons to do movies, but Heigl says she remembers the six seasons fondly and would love to continue with her character Dr Izzie Stevens. It sounds like she’s gotten a lot of lame movie scripts and grew to appreciate her TV character. Hopefully, Anatomy producers will bring back Izzie.

Rockabilly singer Richard Hawley was performing in London with his band when he announced that he had been writing songs with a “female singer” and brought her onstage. The audience was flabbergasted when Lisa Marie Presley popped onstage and sang a bluesy song called ”Weary.” Sheffield born Hawley, who has been called a “modern day Roy Orbison,” has been collaborating with Lisa in preparation for her music comeback. Lisa gave birth to twin daughters a year ago. Richard has the same penchant for “dressing up” that young Elvis did, and bemoans the proliferation of men in track suits.

WILL MICHAEL JACKSON SURVIVE FIFTY PERFORMANCES?

An astute reader has a contact at the O2 Arena in the UK where Michael Jackson has scheduled 50 concerts from July to September and January thru February. (That’s a staggering amount of performances for someone who’s often seen in a wheelchair.) The source says that everyone at the arena has been warned that no one backstage, crew or fans, can TOUCH Michael because he is delicate. The best part is that Michael will still be paid for his concerts even if he FAILS to complete his contract due to illness! What are the odds of him NOT becoming ill? He won’t allow an O2 doctor to examine him. The arena is starting to worry that they will be empty for many of these nights. How Michael gets away with all this is a miracle.

Andrew Dice Clay must be thinking “If Mickey Rourke can make a comeback – I can TOO!” After all, they both hang out at Mulberry Street Pizza in Beverly Hills. It’s generally believed that “political correctness” killed the Diceman’s career. We do NOT support political correctness, but we’re not too fond of misogynists either. This year Clay has had a lot of concert dates so he’s making SOME money, but nothing like “The Wrestler” has come his way yet. Don’t you love the way he ignores the sign behind him?

DON'T COUNT MICKEY ROURKE OUT YET!

Life IS full of surprises. Just when everyone was writing off Mickey Rourke as an over the hill has-been, he pulled off an acting triumph! Mickey’s film “The Wrestler” was voted BEST MOVIE at the Venice Film Festival and he will certainly be an Oscar contender! In the movie, Mickey plays a heartbreaking character – an ageing wrestler who is in despair as his body fails him and friends desert him. It just goes to show that looks aren’t EVERYTHING in Hollywood – at least when it comes to men.

MADONNA IS TAKING BRITNEY UNDER HER WING

Madonna has reached out to Britney Spears and this weekend Britney is set to film video footage that will appear on the big screens on Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour. Madonna also wants Britney to perform in person for several of her concert dates. The UK’s Sun newspaper says Madonna want to give Britney some career guidance and get her back on track. That also includes, we presume, plenty of Kabbalah brainwashing. Still, it IS a major opportunity for Britney. (Interesting how they’ve both changed since this photo was taken. Madonna looks better – Britney doesn’t.)

GIVE SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE A CHANCE – AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES

Sly, along with some of The Family Stone are still trying to forge a comeback and they’re booked Friday, April 25, at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Let’s hope the show is longer than the brief but tantalizing appearance he made onstage at the 2006 Grammys. It’s only too easy to imagine what happened to Sly in all these years since his raging popularity in the funk-mad early 70′s. (He was the first rockstar we ever saw with a portable phone – it was the size of a thick briefcase. Sly wanted to be able to call his lawyer at the drop of a rolled up hundred dollar bill.) He’s got a bad back and he’s hunched over now. Sly says he fell off a cliff walking in his yard. We just hope he shows up Friday – with or without the mohawk.

DURAN DURAN STILL LOOKS MORE THAN PRESENTABLE

Another comeback! And it looks like it will be successful – 80′s band Duran Duran has extended their run at the Barrymore Theater on Broadway in New York, starting next week. They’re celebrating the release of their new album Red Carpet Massacre. (LOVE the title) Nick Rhodes is still our favorite little fashionista. We met him years ago at an MTV party and he was very drunk and loads of fun.
