Tilda Swinton’s excellent movie “We Need to Talk About Kevin” brought up the infrequently mentioned subject of child psychopaths and reminded many people of the 1956 movie “The Bad Seed” which was extraordinary for it’s time. Patty McCormack made an indelible impression playing polite but demonic 10 year old Rhoda in “The Bad Seed.” She’s still around and was seen fondling semiprecious stones at Crystalarium on Melrose Avenue. Currently, Patty often guests on TV series like “NYPD Blue” or “Grey’s Anatomy” and starred as Pat Nixon in the Nixon/Frost movie in 2008.

ANNIE LENNOX STANDS UP FOR WOMEN
Filed Under: Annie Lennox > Crystalarium > Feminist
It’s always exciting when a fashion icon like Annie Lennox (of the Eurythmics) walks into your store. Annie popped into Crystalarium on Melrose in West Hollywood – it’s where quirky celebs like Nicolas Cage stock up on crystals. Annie fell in love with an electronic art work depicting important women in history morphing one into the next. Annie, a huge feminist and social activist, HAD to have the piece, which she bought and carried out of the store. (The photo above shows Annie wearing her HIV activist t -shirt along with her daughters Lola, 21, and Tali, 18, at Milan Fashion Week.)

JADA PINKETT SMITH HAS A WEAKNESS FOR CRYSTALS
Filed Under: Crystalarium > Jada Pinkett Smith > Shopping
Jada Pinkett Smith is a huge fan of crystals – she likes to wear them, touch them, and look at them. She’s apparently a frequent visitor at Crystalarium because she knows her way around the West Hollywood store. One of Jada’s first stops after returning from her daughter Willow’s European tour with Justin Bieber was the crystal store. A fellow shopper reported that Jada “spent a lot of money” – she picked out a gemstone pendant, several crystals and minerals, and books about crystal healing. Some people believe that gemstones have therapeutic qualities. Maybe she needed a quick cure for jet lag.
