Leave it to Kim Kardashian to hire a private eye to tail her husband Kris Humphries in hopes of gathering information to help her divorce. According to The Enquirer, weeks before the split, Kris started to notice he was being followed and at first he thought it was paparazzi, but they didn’t take photos! After awhile he realized he was being watched when Kim wasn’t around. Kim thought she’d catch him fooling around with other women but she didn’t. Kris confronted Kim and she said she was “only trying to protect herself” but this sneaky act might actually give Kris the upper hand in the divorce.

DEMI MOORE DIVORCE: WHAT TOOK SO LONG?

Demi Moore had good reasons for taking her sweet time about filing for divorce from cheating Ashton Kutcher. First of all, friends tell us that she and Ashton had an “agreement” – he could have fun with his buddies as long as he was discreet and she didn’t find out any details. Ashton forgot to be discreet with that San Diego party girl Sara Leal, who spilled the beans on their unprotected sex. When Demi became convinced that Ashton had crossed the line and humiliated her, she took some time getting their finances in order BEFORE filing. Hence the hesitation. Demi doesn’t want to make any mistakes.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING: COURTENEY COX LET DAVID ARQUETTE DOWN EASY

We have to give Courteney Cox credit for handling her break-up with David Arquette with such sensitivity. She and David separated last year but she has yet to file for divorce. When they first split, David was despondent – he went kind of nuts partying and had an affair. Courteney talked him into checking into rehab and he completed treatment. After David left rehab he got a grip on himself and Courteney made sure he had access to their daughter Coco. She let him down gently. As Courteney hoped, time passed and David eventually found a girl he cares about (He’s seeing E.T. reporter Christina McLarty) and accepted the idea of divorce. Now they can have a civilized divorce with minimal hurt feelings – thanks to Courteney’s patience.

Kim Kardashian’s marriage was hijacked by her family. In other words, both Kim, 31, and her husband Kris Humphries, 26, chose their own families over each other. It was inevitable. The Kardashians did everything to alienate Kris’s family – they didn’t invite the Humphries partake in the wedding preparations – and they wanted to. The Kardashians continued to minimize the importance of Kris’s family when they were barely seen on camera at the wedding and no wedding transportation was planned for the groom’s family. They flew home to Minneapolis from the ten million dollar nuptials in economy class. Kim was horrified at the prospect of living in Kris’s home town of Minneapolis – even part time. After the wedding she continued to accept every paying offer to appear anywhere – with no regard for her husband. When he didn’t follow her around like a puppy dog, she pulled the plug. Soon she’ll be filming Tyler Perry’s movie “The Marriage Counselor” in Atlanta and she won’t look back.

According to the Enquirer, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett are on the verge of breaking up (“they’re headed for a $300 million divorce”) and they’re living in separate houses. Scientology certainly won’t keep them together – the cult doesn’t mind when members divorce because usually both the husband and wife go on to recruit new members for the church. A spy reported to us that Will partied at Soho House Friday night with a bunch of buddies and it was definitely a “boys night out.” The guys had numerous bottles on the table and got louder and rowdier as the night went on. What with all the speculation about exactly WHY Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony split up, naturally the subject of Scientology was bound to come up. Jennifer has admitted that her father has been a Scientologist for over 20 years, and coincidentally or not, her only best friend Leah Remini, happens to be one also! (And don’t forget her buddies Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) It’s entirely possible that Jennifer’s house is staffed by Scientologists. Plus Jennifer said she wouldn’t mind sending her twins Max and Emme to Scientology school. This MIGHT have rubbed Marc the wrong way. He has never been committed to the cult. Taking into consideration the fact that the church of Scientology encourages its members to distance themselves from non-believers, this COULD be a contributing factor to the divorce. Scientology heartily supports divorcing “enemies of the church.” So maybe Marc WASN’T” too controlling” or “cheating” at all…

Jennifer had gotten Ben Affleck’s stripper “hint’ and left him, and she confided to friends that Marc was “the best sex I ever had!” There’s no doubt that Marc has long been a ladies man and we just bet Jennifer caught him fooling around. Keep in mind Jen and Marc routinely record and perform together, are partners in several businesses together, and were planning to do a TV show together. It won’t be an easy split.

The announced separation of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver after 25 years of marriage came as a shock to everyone. They seemed like such an enduring couple. The fact that Maria left their home and moved into a hotel makes it apparent that SHE is the unhappy one desiring separation. Living with Arnold must be a challenge – he is supremely self-confident and can’t understand anyone else who isn’t. But he has plenty of good qualities – a sense of humor, business smarts, and he’s a happy immigrant who loves this country and credits it for his success. Arnold and Maria symbolized the possibility of two political opposites compromising. Yet, we sense the rupture had nothing to do with politics. Living in reduced circumstances apparently doesn’t agree with him, because he was just arrested with a fake gun and $4000 worth of stolen electronics in his rented car. The loot came from a home that was burglarized while the occupants were out. To no one’s surprise, he also tested positive for drugs. So Blake is back is the pokey, where he spent most of his marriage.

One thing Camille Grammer doesn’t know how to do is take a hint. The more we hear about her marriage, the more we understand why her husband Kelsey wants a divorce ASAP. Camille admitted that she and her cross-dressing husband haven’t “been intimate” in TWO YEARS and that he was more interested in watching FOX news. Last year he announced that he was moving to New York WITHOUT HER to appear in a play. He had the time of his life and started keeping company with other Broadway actors and women. He also encouraged Camille to get involved with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Camille remained in denial that her marriage was over until she saw photos of Kelsey with his new pregnant fiancee Kayte Walsh. Kelsey later remarked that he was starved for affection and has already sent out wedding invitations although his divorce isn’t final. He can’t get rid of Camille fast enough. And she never saw it coming.
