DON’T BLAME BOBBY BROWN FOR WHITNEY’S DRUG PROBLEM

It’s easy to point the finger at Bobby Brown and blame him for ruining Whitney Houston’s life by introducing her to drugs. Granted, Whitney was a nice, well brought up girl when she met Bobby, but everyone assumed she was also gay. She and her live-in assistant Robyn Crawford were inseparable until Whitney met Bobby at the Soul Train Awards in 1989. Bobby had left New Edition and was only 20, while Whitney was almost six years older. He was loads of fun and had started experimenting with drugs. Whitney was immediately smitten and she enthusiastically joined him dabbling with drugs too. As the romance heated up so did their drug abuse. But Whitney was always the boss – she was in charge. They were spectacularly happy together for years, but the drugs took their toll. Public scenes of brawling and cursing became common and Whitney lost her good girl image. When they divorced in 2007, her fans hoped that with the “bad influence” of Bobby gone, she would clean up. It didn’t happen.

The Enquirer got it right: Whitney Houston appeared on the cover this week and she was described as “hitting rock bottom.” She reportedly was on the verge of bankruptcy and collapsed after leaving a Beverly Hills doctor’s office last week. The next night she was out partying with her occasional companion Ray J. Singer Ray J (He made his fortune from that notorious sex video with Kim Kardashian) has been accused of abusing drugs himself and he always seemed to enjoy the attention he got from photographers when he was in the company of Whitney a little too much. The Enquirer predicted correctly “Whitney is playing Russian roulette with her life.” And her distraught daughter (they checked into rehab TOGETHER last year) Bobbi Kristina is the real victim.

MILEY CYRUS IS EVEN DUMBER THAN SHE LOOKS

Miley Cyrus, 19, just seems to get dumber every day. First came the stripper pole and lap dances, then photographs of her smoking what is obviously marijuana and her lame denials. Then a photograph of her vulgarly posed with a penis cake. On Facebook she recently defended her pal Demi Moore by scolding the tabloids for assuming that Demi is “on drugs” when “not everyone in Hollywood is ON DRUGS!” Coincidentally or not, Demi, 49, and her daughter Rumer were partying with Miley at her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth’s birthday party just 9 days before Demi collapsed and both were guzzling Red Bull. Imagine know-it-all Miley denying that Demi uses drugs when it’s an established fact, and she’s already entered rehab! Lying comes easy to Miley since she left the Disney fold. Our advice Miley: get an education!

WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE FOR COURTNEY LOVE’S DAUGHTER FRANCES

In 2009, Frances Cobain filed deposition papers when she was seeking a restraining order against her mother Courtney Love and sordid details from these papers have just been revealed in the NY Daily News. Frances charged that her mother is a hoarder with mountains of stuff piled up from online shopping sprees. She said that her mother exists on xanax, adderall, sonata, and abilify, along with sugar and cigarettes – and rarely eats food. She was so sloppy with her prescriptions that their dog ate some pills and died! Plus her mother frequently fell asleep while smoking in bed. What a way to grow up! The description is horrifying and Frances, 19, is lucky to have left when she did. Since then she has found love with musician Isaiah Silva and they are planning a wedding. (Why Courtney doesn’t have her own reality show is a mystery to us.)

Wait a minute, the whole Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher divorce story just took a U-turn. TMZ reports that Demi was inhaling nitrous oxide with a friend before she had a seizure and was hospitalized. Nitrous Oxide! This is something bored young teenagers do after graduating from glue-sniffing. For a woman of Demi’s age and accomplishment, it’s mind boggling. What ELSE does she do? Obviously Demi is not the innocent victim of her husband’s infidelity that she appeared to be. Maybe she’s been abusing drugs for a long time and DROVE Ashton to seek companionship elsewhere. He’s probably happy this information surfaced because the press has branded him the villain who caused the split. There’s WAY more to this than meets the eye.

HEATHER LOCKLEAR HOSPITALIZED: NICE GIRLS HAVE PROBLEMS TOO

Poor Heather Locklear. Anxiety and depression seem to be ruling her life for the past few years. Her frightened sister just called 911 because Heather, 50, had mixed alcohol and prescription drugs and she was taken to the hospital. In 2008, Heather had a suicide scare and checked into a medical facility in Arizona for 30 days to treat her “anxiety and depression,” although it seems apparent that substance abuse was involved. She had a several DUI situations after that and she and her fiancee Jack Wagner split up a few months ago. She and her exhusband Richie Sambora share custody of their teenage daughter Ava, pictured above.

THE DECLINE AND FALL OF DR ARNOLD KLEIN

For decades, Dr Arnold Klein was the most famous dermatologist in Beverly Hills and he was a pioneer in the development of collagen and other skin injectables. His waiting room was always loaded with celebrities in sunglasses and he was invited to all the best places. Klein had three lavish homes, a collection of cars, and lived like a king. During those heady times, we visited his office to try and dig up some gossip. We found him to be really nice and he loved publicity so he gave us a special price. Now he’s bankrupt and according to the LA Times, is being investigated by the Medical Board of California for overprescribing drugs for Michael Jackson. He may lose his medical license. Before she died, his dear friend Elizabeth Taylor turned on him for publicly dishing details of Michael’s medical and sex life. Klein is now reduced to auctioning off gifts his celebrity clients gave him to try and pay off the 12 million he owes. His behavior makes you wonder if he was sampling his own drugs…

DREW BARRYMORE HAS A HALF BROTHER ON SKID ROW

Apparently Madonna isn’t the only celebrity with a brother on skid row. Mike Walker in The Enquirer reports that Drew Barrymore has a half brother named John Barrymore III who is homeless in downtown Los Angeles. In fact, he’s walking around wearing a t-shirt that says “I’M DREW BARRYMORE’S BROTHER” and he can prove it. Poor Drew comes from a famous acting family that is plagued with alcoholism, drug addiction, and mental illness. Drew ended up supporting her own father John Barrymore Jr in his later derelict years but she’s not close to her older half brother, whose mother was actress Cara Williams.

Why Michael Jackson’s family feels so celebratory since Dr Murray was appropriately found guilty is puzzling – it’s not like he WANTED Michael to die. It reminds us of parents who lose a child to drugs – they desperately want someone else to BLAME because they can’t bear to admit their child destroyed himself. So they accuse the drug dealer of murder. In fact, their children, and Michael Jackson, would still be alive if they hadn’t been addicted to drugs. Period. Murray was the doctor who got caught – what about all the other doctors who gave Michael what he wanted? There’s a lot of malpractice here, but ultimately Michael was a more than willing victim. EVEN WHEN HE HAD MONEY, SLY STONE LIVED IN A VEHICLE

This isn’t the first time Sly Stone has lived in a vehicle rather than a home. Back in the 70’s he had a large house on Bel Air Road that once belonged to John Phillips of The Mamas and Papas. The lavish grounds were even occupied by peacocks when Sly bought the place. Sly had an enormous entourage of drug and music oriented people hanging out, cooking and living off him in the house. Instead of chasing them away, Sly ended up living in his large Winnebago in the driveway. He traveled in the Winnebago instead of a car because he believed police couldn’t search his “home” without a warrant, like they could his car. So he felt safer with his drugs. It’s sad that bad choices and economic misfortune has reduced such a talented musician to living in a camper van in Crenshaw, but maybe he’s not as miserable as we assume.

Redmond O’Neal just can’t get it right. The last judge he saw warned him that if he didn’t clean up in his current rehab, he’d be sent to state prison for his accumulated felonies. This week someone sneaked drugs to him in rehab and he flunked a drug test. He’s expected to be back in front of the judge this week and the outcome won’t be good. But nothing could be worse than his last mug shot. This sunken, aging face belongs to a privileged 26 year old kid with two good looking parents. Look what he’s done to himself.

AMY WINEHOUSE’S EX-HUSBAND BLAKE FIELDER- CIVIL IS WILLING TO TELL ALL

While Amy Winehouse’s unfortunate exhusband Blake Fielder-Civil has been languishing in jail, he’s been thinking about writing a book about his romance and two year marriage with Amy. Blake is currently incarcerated for burglary and gun charges, so he has a lot of time to think. Publishers are probably buzzing around him because he also has a lot of photos and filmed footage of Amy that he’s never shared. They divorced in 2009. This could be a life changing opportunity for Blake who’s been accused of getting Amy into hard drugs. At the very least it could be another “Sid & Nancy” story.

REDMOND O’NEAL BACK ON DRUGS AND BACK IN JAIL

While Ryan O’Neal is fighting to hold onto that Warhol painting of Farrah that she probably willed to her alma mater the University of Texas, his son Redmond, 26, is back into drugs. He got out of his court ordered rehab just last August according to RadarOnline, and was pulled over today in Santa Monica for running a red light. Police found heroin in his car and locked him up. After around a dozen rehab attempts, we wonder if there’s much hope for Redmond. His mother left him enough money to live without working and he has minimal education. His biggest crime now is driving.

No surprises here. Jeff Conaway has overdosed on painkillers again, only this time he’s in a coma, it it’s not looking good. (He seemed to be on a weird cycle of ingesting too many painkillers, causing him to stagger and fall down and hurt himself, so he needed MORE painkillers.) He’s been in the Encino Medical Center for a week since he was found unconscious on the floor of his home. Another dropout from Dr Drew’s “Celebrity Rehab.” His family is trying to keep his former fiancee- and drug buddy- Viikki Lizzi – from visiting him.

Whitney Houston has fallen so far off the wagon (we hear it’s crack again- and booze) that Prince didn’t want her onstage with him. Houston seemed so intoxicated with her daughter at a recent performance that she was banned from future Prince shows. Apparently her “out-patient” rehab isn’t doing much good. The most alarming factor about this relapse is the sight of her daughter Bobbi Kristina, 18, looking and acting every bit as high as her mother. They were body slamming each other, singing drunkenly in each other’s arms, and doing things mothers and daughters don’t generally do. Has Bobbi become Whitney’s new “drug buddy?”

CATHERINE ZETA-JONES’ HOSPITALIZATION: THERE’S MORE TO THIS THAN MEETS THE EYE

Everyone’s talking about the news that Catherine Zeta Jones checked into a Connecticut hospital facility to deal with her “bipolar disorder.” Granted, she’s had a tough year living with her husband’s illness, but she’s not telling the whole story. Silver Hill Hospital specializes in treating psychiatric disorders combined with substance abuse. The National Enquirer broke this story (although few blogs credited them) in this week’s issue and they revealed that Catherine went right into the detox center of the hospital and checked out after five days. ELIZABETH TAYLOR WAS A GREAT MOVIE STAR, NOT A GREAT PERSON

We’ve had it up to HERE with the tributes to Elizabeth Taylor. Let’s get real about Liz. Sorry, but she simply wasn’t worthy of all that admiration. She had a pretty face but other positive qualities were rare and far between. When she was a teenager Liz started stealing other women’s husbands. (We still admire Debbie Reynolds for forgiving her.) The acquisitive actress married seven men and finagled as many diamonds out of them as she could manage. And bragged about it. She loved her pets but never bothered to house break them – they messed her carpets – and OTHER people had to clean up. She had health problems but casually checked into a hospital whenever she wanted a rest. Of course her health would have been much better if she had controlled her urges to overeat, drink, smoke, and take drugs – and she never exercised a day in her life. Self-control was not Elizabeth’s strong factor. In 1983, she admitted to being hooked on painkillers and sleeping pills for 35 years. While filming, she expected to find a “gift” in her dressing room every morning or she might not be in the mood to work. We mean jewelry, not flowers. She kept people waiting for hours with no apology. Liz expected her friend Michael Jackson to shower her with diamonds and jewelry stores are still suing his estate for money he owed for her gifts. Granted, she WAS a dear friend to Rock Hudson when he needed one, but her involvement with AIDS charities brought her a grand lifestyle and prestige – private jets and five star hotel suites around the world for her and her entourage, incredible gifts, paid for by the charity. Style icon? Only if you like turbans and caftans. When Edith Head stopped dressing her, she lost her glamour. Let’s celebrate her film career- not her private life.

JEFF CONAWAY SAYS HE’S A VICTIM OF “ELDER ABUSE” BY HIS GIRLFRIEND

How time flies. Not too many years ago Jeff Conaway, 60, was dancing and singing in “Grease” and landed a role on the hit TV series “Taxi.” Now he’s accusing his girlfriend of ELDER ABUSE! The drug addled Conaway (a “Celebrity Rehab” failure) claims that his drug buddy/former fiancee Vikki Lizzi set him up and called the cops on him. (Jeff has a history of taking painkillers that make him fall and injure himself, thus causing the need for more painkillers.) He insists she injected him with painkillers against his will and planted cocaine in his house before a police bust. He also told Radaronline that she stole money and forged checks. Both have restraining orders against each other. If he lives long enough, Charlie Sheen could end up in a situation like this.

We never had much of a weakness for Russell Brand, but we were horrified by revelations he made in a recent interview. According to Radaronline, back when Brand, now 36, was addicted to crack and heroin he admits he had “destructive tendencies” and was “fixated on dead animals.” When he performed onstage he’d bring a heap of dead rats or birds and says he’d “smash them up with a hammer and throw them to the audience. He’d say “Why are you disgusted? They’re dead already!” He says he was trying to “wake people up” by shocking them. It’s a horrifying mental picture that Brand clearly would be better off not mentioning. Drugs are no excuse.

IS THERE ANY WAY CHARLIE SHEEN CAN MAKE IT BACK TO WORK ON TUESDAY?

The countdown has begun. ”Two and a Half Men” is resuming production Monday and Charlie Sheen is expected to show up for work Tuesday. But he’s on another bender and unraveling fast – his advisors are trying to stop him from buying multi-million dollar neighboring houses in Mulholland Estates for his two ex wives. Crack loving exwife Brooke Mueller has already moved back into his house along with a few porn stars. (The beginning of the “porn family?”) He went on an insane shopping spree and spent $900,000 on cars for pornstars along with a $160,000 Mercedes for Brooke. He packed up Brooke and the porn girls and left for the Bahamas (Brooke ditched him at some point.) He’s been calling radio shows from the Bahamas, badmouthing his producer Chuck Lorre, challenging him to a fight, and ranting and raving like a madman. But he INSISTS he will be back at work. We can hardly wait.
UPDATE: Apparently CBS executives finally got fed up with Charlie’s antics and cancelled the show for the season. Stay tuned for Charlie’s reaction!
