You’ve gotta love Jean Paul Gaultier for keeping the image of Amy Winehouse alive. Amy was the inspiration for his latest collection because he loved not only her unique style, but the way she put her clothes together and the colors she mixed. Of course the models sashaying down the runway all had towering beehives and black eyeliner and many were puffing on cigarettes. But no beat-up ballet slippers. It made us miss Amy all over again.

Katy Perry left Russell Brand’s London apartment looking frazzled because she was in a hurry to catch the train to Paris – she had no intention of missing the Jean Paul Gaultier fashion show that night. When she arrived she got her hair done, slipped into a satin dress, and enjoyed the style extravaganza without a date.

Australian singer Kylie Minogue is not often featured in this column, but this photo is such a perfect combination of cheerful things that we can’t resist. It’s a rare and beautiful sunny day in Paris. Kylie looks fresh faced and filled with anticipation as she dashes, with fringe flying on her boots, into Jean Paul Gaultier’s magnificent shop for some retail therapy. Life doesn’t get much better than this.

Here are two of our favorite designers backstage at Jean Paul Gaultier’s show in Paris. Jean Paul is still a brilliant innovator and he knows an inspiring female when he sees one. Dita Von Teese, who has her own lingerie line for Wonderbra, is looking VERY Joan Crawford-ish in this photo. It’s those squarish bangs and pronounced eyebrows that remind us of Mildred Pierce. Dita never disappoints.

Best Actress Marion Cotillard looks like the perfect mermaid in her brilliant Jean Paul Gaultier confection. (Kimora Lee Simmons didn’t like her dress but we disagree) NOW maybe you’ll take our advice and run out to see or rent her movie La Vie En Rose. Not enough people SAW this epic movie. Hers was, by far, the most exquisite performance by an actress this year, and we are SO happy she got the recognition she deserved.
