Wait a minute, the whole Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher divorce story just took a U-turn. TMZ reports that Demi was inhaling nitrous oxide with a friend before she had a seizure and was hospitalized. Nitrous Oxide! This is something bored young teenagers do after graduating from glue-sniffing. For a woman of Demi’s age and accomplishment, it’s mind boggling. What ELSE does she do? Obviously Demi is not the innocent victim of her husband’s infidelity that she appeared to be. Maybe she’s been abusing drugs for a long time and DROVE Ashton to seek companionship elsewhere. He’s probably happy this information surfaced because the press has branded him the villain who caused the split. There’s WAY more to this than meets the eye.

SLIMMER ARETHA FRANKLIN STILL WON’T DISCUSS HER SURGERY

Aretha Franklin’s taped message on the Grammys revealed that she has lost a considerable amount of weight. She still refuses to discuss her hospitalization and surgery a few months ago, so speculation never stops. At first it was assumed she had lap-band surgery to lose weight, but the rumor that she had surgery for pancreatic cancer began to circulate. Either would cause weight loss. Aretha is strangely reluctant to reveal her health issue but she did say “Doctors believe my surgery will add 15 to 20 years to my life.” We hope so.

HAROLD SMITH DIDN’T KILL RONNI CHASEN

The Ronni Chasen murder mystery is far from over. It’s highly probable that the so-called “suspect” who shot himself had nothing to do with it. Harold Smith, who had lived in the low rent Harvey Apartments, had a history of arrests and incarcerations for burglary, robbery, drugs and firearms. His neighbors agreed he was strange, crazy, paranoid, and most didn’t believe his babblings – even when he supposedly bragged about killing “the publicist.” (The reward prompted someone to report him anyway and cops started tracking his moves.) He did vow that he’d rather die than return to prison. Several burglaries had occurred in the neighborhood and Smith, who had moved out of the building, returned several times to ASK if cops were looking for him. Police confronted him in the lobby and before they could say a word, he shot himself. It’s entirely possible that this mental case thought he was being arrested for the burglaries- and he couldn’t face prison again. What’s more, it’s common knowledge that Harold Smith rode a bicycle. Odds of this crackpot being hired to “off” anybody are slim, indeed. Police are hoping bullets connect the suicide and the murder but we seriously doubt that a delusional man on a bicycle had anything to do with this crime.

ARETHA FRANKLIN’S MYSTERY SURGERY HAS FANS WORRIED SICK

Everybody’s worried about Aretha Franklin’s upcoming surgery because she won’t reveal what it’s all about. That gets imaginations working overtime. She’s cancelled all concerts and cleared her schedule until May. Concerned fans held a prayer vigil for her in Detroit. Hopefully, it’s not as serious as her fans fear, and Aretha is having lap-band surgery or something like it, that would improve her weight and health. We’d like to keep her around as long as possible.

MARIAH CAREY’S CONDITION IS STILL UNDER WRAPS

Mariah Carey, 40, is bigger than ever and she still walks around with a Mona Lisa smile, and refuses to confirm or deny that she is pregnant. She‘s been recording for the past few months and out of the public eye. Suddenly she appeared in Brazil and she’s added more pounds and doesn’t seem unhappy about it. Mariah and her husband Nick Cannon have been talking about wanting a baby for quite awhile, and she’s been seen visiting fertility doctors. As a result, observers are betting that she got her wish and just won’t talk until she feels very secure about it.

SIMON MONJACK EMPTIED BRITTANY’S BANK ACCOUNTS BEFORE HE DIED

We weren’t surprised to learn that Simon Monjack was spending his late wife Brittany Murphy’s money as fast as could until he died in May. Brittany’s former financial advisor says that Simon drained Brittany’s pension fund and bank accounts of hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time. 80% of her hard-earned money is now gone, leaving her mother Sharon (above, right) with a financially insecure future. After Simon was found dead in the same mysterious circumstances as Brittany, his mother stepped in and now the two mothers in law are at odds over the remaining money. Both mothers are watching with interest the investigation into whether mold might have contributed to the deaths of Brittany and Simon.

SIMON MONJACK’S DEATH: THE BRITTANY MURPHY MYSTERY DEEPENS

It makes one shudder to think that TWO seemingly healthy people died suddenly from ”natural causes” within a few months in Brittany Murphy’s house. Brittany and her much-maligned husband Simon Monjack were both found dead and surrounded by prescription pill bottles that may or may not have contributed to their deaths. Brittany’s mother, who found both bodies, should think about moving into a hotel immediately. Brittany’s estranged father and brother are making vague comments like “The truth will come out” and “You’d be surprised by what was going on in that house.” We’re certainly curious.

ERROL FLYNN’S MISSING SON SEAN MAY HAVE BEEN FOUND

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, the 40 year old mystery of what happened to Errol Flynn’s son Sean may have been solved. Handsome photojournalist Sean Flynn was just 28 when he disappeared in 1970 during a Time magazine assignment in Cambodia. Sean’s mother Lili Damita spent a lot of money on failed expeditions to find Sean’s body before she died in 1994. Sean’s sister Rory funded a recent expedition that discovered the remains of a Westerner they believe is Sean. Remains are being sent to America for DNA testing. Sean’s disappearance was immortalized by The Clash in their song named after him in their Combat Rock album.
